ICSD database

We invite you to use ICSD (Inorganic Crystal Structure Database), the world's largest database for completely determined inorganic crystal structures, provided by FIZ Karlsruhe.

The ICSD database makes it possible to quickly and precisely find information on crystal structures, which is essential in fields such as crystallography, chemistry, materials science.

The ICSD contains more than 300,000 crystallographic structures (all relevant data on the crystal structure of inorganic compounds are available, including unit cell, space group, complete atomic parameters, site occupation factors, Wyckoff sequence, molecular formula and weight, ANX formula, mineral group, etc).

The oldest records deposited in the ICSD date back to 1913. (these are the crystal structures of diamond and sodium chloride). More than 12,000 crystallographic structures are added to the database each year.

Access to the database will be provided until 31 December 2025.
