INIS registers international literature regarding peaceful applications of science and nuclear engineering. Created by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) contains approximately 1.2 million records. Since 1992 the database has also registered publications on economical aspects and environment protection in relation to other sources of energy. Except books and journals, the database covers scientific publications which are harder to reach - dissertations and reports. The latter make up approximately 30% of the database contents.
