The Knovel database, published by Elsevier, contains over 13,000 books, conference materials and data on the properties of materials such as chemicals, plastics, metal alloys, composites, optical glass and materials used in electronics. In addition, Knovel offers access to interactive analytical tools: tables and spreadsheets, charts and diagrams, equations, and a unit converter. In total, the Knovel platform contains over 90 million data points.
The database resources come from over 170 leading scientific associations and publishers.
AGH University users have access to all Knovel subject collections (except ‘premium’ collections) – 36 in total, and the Knovel AI research assistant, which uses advanced artificial intelligence techniques to speed up and increase the accuracy of searches.
In 2026, a new feature will be added to the database – AI summaries generated on the basis of reliable sources available in Knovel.
