Derwent Patent Search (formerly Derwent Innovation) is a renowned tool for conducting research in global patent literature, covering documentation from over 100 patent offices. It features advanced search capabilities that facilitate precise access to patent documents on any given topic. The platform allows for efficient filtering, sorting, and presentation of results, including graphical visualizations, as well as exporting data to spreadsheets and other formats for further analysis.

The database includes unique data from the Derwent World Patents Index (DWPI) for 50 key patent jurisdictions. Thanks to expert-redacted titles and abstracts, it enables a quick understanding of the technical essence of inventions. The tool offers advanced statistical analysis and data visualization capabilities, such as trend maps and patent activity charts.

Access rules: Local access is available in the Special Collections Reading Room. Due to a single-user license, prior reservation of the workstation is highly recommended.
